Recently, DHE students visited the Qatar Museum Authority’s Katara Annex for a tour and workshop of Chinese artist Yan Pei-Ming’s “Painting the History” which will be in Doha through January 12, 2013.
In the exhibit, Pei-Ming examines the history of revolution, and proposes the question of which had more influence – the revolutionary, or those trying to stop a revolution?
After seeing the exhibit, students used shading techniques with photographs from Pei-Ming’s Wall of Portraits to mimic some of the brush effects he put into his work.
